Facilities at the Island Riding Centre

At the Island Riding Centre, we offer state-of-the-art facilities, from our wax fibre indoor and outdoor riding arenas to our self-catering accommodation, livery yard and multiple on-site riding tracks. The centre is accessible for wheelchairs and those with limited mobility.

Indoor Riding Arena

A 60m x 25m sand school with Fibrewax surface from Day Equestrian. With excellent lighting the arena provides all year round riding into the evenings without the worry of weather conditions.

A separate vending café overlooks the arena for spectator comfort and by the end of 2019 a fully licensed bar and restaurant with terrace will be open with full spectator viewing.

The arena is also home to our main reception office, a changing spaces accessible toilet facility and a classroom.

Livery Yard

A fully equipped 18 stable yard with automated drinkers, wash down area, solarium, large tack room, feed store, WC and large rest room with kitchen to relax!

A gated entrance to the yard with CCTV courtyard and emergency lighting, each stable is 12 foot x 12 foot with steel framed door, has individual lighting, a lined onduline roof providing a cooler environment in the summer and warmth in the winter. Each stable has a window 955mm x 745mm wide with louvre opener and steel bars. An additional arbour vent fitted below the overhang provides further ventilation for your horse. 17mm rubber matting is provided with additional bedding on request.

All-weather Outdoor School

Our 60m x 40m sand school with Fibrewax surface from Day Equestrian who provide similar surfaces to Wellington Riding School and The Household Cavalry.

The surface is a combination of Redhill silica sand, stabilising fibre and equestrian wax all of which create a root structure in the surface so horses travel over the surface rather than through it. Together with an excellent drainage system the surface is perfect for year round horse riding and hosts events with a purpose built spectator bank and seating area along one side of the arena. Floodlighting is available for evening riding too!

Self-catering Holiday Accommodation

Our 2, 3 and 4-bedroom self-catering accommodation on the Isle of Wight is perfect for couples, families, groups, schools, riding clubs and non-horse riding guests too!

A choice of ten newly built houses, The Gallops, in an impressive courtyard setting (with one wing created from a barn conversion), each of which can sleep at least six guests, and some of which are suitable for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.

As part of our extensive on site development, a spacious four bedroom / four bathroom bungalow, The Orchard has been renovated to a high specification.
