Our safari tents are located within our equestrian centre in 40 acres of countryside; there’s so much to see and do onsite with a range of excellent facilities a short walk away including a café, children’s play area, rescued sheep, chickens and ducks, horses and superb indoor and outdoor riding arenas and on-site hacks/walks for riders of all ages and abilities. We are a car ride away from beaches, attractions, country-side walks and cycle paths.
Sitting under a blanket of stars
The Isle of Wight is renowned for its dark skies and stunning night-time display of the Milky Way – sit back next to a crackling fire and relax with us.
Our spacious luxury safari tents sleep 6-8 and each has two shower rooms and all the mod cons for an unforgettable glamping experience.
The horses graze around the camp and so there’s always something to watch, the safari camp itself is gated so that the kids can run and play while sausages sizzle and the champagne sparkles.
If it’s raining there’s a games-room tent with table tennis and room for a projector!
Each safari tent is furnished with its own deck, a BBQ grill, dining table and sitting area, lighting and electrical sockets, luxurious sofas, a kitchen area with hot plates, utensils and a fridge, separate bedrooms with wooden furniture to store your luggage, a king-sized bed and bunk beds that sleep 4, the added luxury of two bathrooms with a shower and toilet in each.
Our central fire pit has a grill and communal seating area, there’s plenty of space for the kids to run and play football and for the washing up duties we have a separate washing up tent with seating which also contains a table tennis table and a projector on request.

My family of 4 adults and 4 under 7’s have just returned from a short stay in the Safari tents at island Riding center.
The tents were beautifully furnished and exceptionally clean.
There was room for 8 of us not to be on top of each other with the safe gated area to play football, rounders, and we even hired a bouncy castle , which there was plenty of room for.
we used the BBQ and Pizza ovens provided to cook on and then toasted marshmallows on the group firepit in the evening.
The beds were very comfortable with plenty of bedding provided.
The two bathrooms were roomy and both had power showers.
We were able to book pony rides and play with the lambs on site as well as make use of the onsite cafe and children playground.
I will be booking again for later in the year as the family would like to stay again.
First class accommodation
We just got back from staying here for the Isle of Wight festival. The accommodation (we stayed in Seabiscuit) was gorgeous – really clean and very comfortable with some lovely touches to the interior decor – everything you need for a self-contained holiday accommodation. There’s a little park for the children and football nets, which my kids loved to use, too.
This is an awesome place. Clean, well maintained, and well kept. Staff really friendly. The best space for families with children and real value for money. Thank you Island Riding Center for making our holidays so memorable.
Louise and Martin were fantastic, friendly, easy to contact and very accommodating with extras such as cots! The accommodation was amazing especially the Orchard, we celebrated a birthday and attended the Isle of Wight Festival so there was a large group ranging in age from 1-50+ years.
Wow…What a place!
Already booked to go back in October. What was really great was free full on powerful wifi. At one point we had 2 iPad on Sky Go and a laptop on the internet all as quick as you like. Highly recommended.
Great place to stay. Accommodation of the highest standard and the team helped with the needs of a disabled guest and a teenager horse riding with equal skills. We will go back.
From quality accommodation to the highest quality equestrian facilities – including indoor arena and outdoor ground (with plenty of space to enjoy the activities), the Island Riding Centre seems to have it all. There is particular attention paid to anyone with differing abilities, with a Changing Places facility that is self funded. A world class venue, with world class facilities for all abilities!
Exclusive use of the safari camp
If you’re planning a get-together or a large gathering, we hire the safari camp out as exclusive use – either with the accommodation included or just the safari camp.
If you’re bringing in a bouncy castle or a hog roast this is the place to have your party – in the countryside, surrounded by fields and horses.
The camp is gated and so the kids can run riot and parents can chill.
Off season we convert the glamping village to accommodate pony club breaks/ large groups/ residential stays/ school and scout holidays.
Our 4 tents can sleep 16 in each in bunk beds (very useful to have the 2x shower rooms in each tent) and in the washing up and games room tent we have space for a projector (on request) and there’s a table tennis table and chill out area – perfect!
At night the skies are dark enough for stargazing – bring your telescope/binoculars, there is plentiful wildlife to watch in the surrounding woods and in the daytime, horses graze on the pastures around the camp.
